Barrier is a world leader in this market, carrying out a full range of services. Over the years these have included painting, scaffolding, TSA, PFP, GRP tank lining, thermal insulation, cladding, deck screeds, PU buoyancy and many more.

The company has over 30 years experience and has probably carried out more painting and PFP work than any other company in the world. From projects in the UK, across Europe, South Africa, Angola, Algeria, Egypt, UAE, Qatar, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, and Russia, there are few locations in which the Company hasn’t worked.

Barrier's innovative approach has kept the company at the forefront of the industry. The company has made significant investment in modern equipment and has designed and built its own plant where necessary. The equipment is well maintained by in-house mechanics, to provide the highest levels of reliability and efficiency.

The client list includes AMEC, Aker Kvaerner, SLP Engineering, Heerema, ABB, Halliburton and Maersk.

Pipelines

The company has successfully diversified into the pipeline market over the past few years. This has involved new expertise and equipment, including a state-of-the-art Gas Oven for FBE coating of pipes, bends and tees.

We have recently completed a Line Pipe coating plant in Qatar. The plant was designed and built by ourselves, including an advanced pipeblasting machine designed to allow any size of pipe up to 48" to be blasted, without resetting the height of the feed rollers.

Three-layer PE and PP are also carried out to pipework, as well as sprayed PU and traditional coatings. Work is carried out to various standards, including British Gas CW6, CM10 and PA1.

Rehabilitation work is also carried out using bespoke equipment. We can blast and coat internals of 16" to 48" pipes in situ. Our largest contract involved treating over 7000 12m pipes for Shell for the Corrib Development. Over £1m of plant was used to carry out this work, most of which was designed in-house.
