The company has successfully diversified into the pipeline market over the past 10 years. This has involved new expertise and equipment, including a state of the art Gas Oven for Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) and multi-layer coating of pipes, bends and tees.
We have recently completed a Line Pipe coating plant in our Wallsend facility. The plant was designed and built by ourselves, to allow any size of pipe to be blasted and coated up to 20″. Currently this is for single and dual layer FBE.
3-layer Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) are also carried out to pipe spools, as well as sprayed Polyurethane (PU) and traditional coatings.
Work is carried out various standards, including British Gas CW6, CM10, PA1 etc.
Rehabilitation work is also carried out using bespoke equipment. We can blast and coat internals of 12″ to 48″ pipes in situ. Our largest contract was treating over 7000 12m pipes for Shell for the Corrib Development. Over £1M of plant was used to carry out this work, most of which was designed in-house.
The company also applies subsea syntactic insulation over the FBE coatings, in both epoxy and polyurethane to pipe work and structures. Field joints are coated on site using a range of materials and heat shrink sleeves (HSS).
